In mathematics, in particular in algebraic topology, differential geometry and algebraic geometry, the Chern classes are characteristic classes associated with complex vector bundles. They have since found applications in physics, Calabi–Yau manifolds, string theory, Chern–Simons theory, knot theory, Gromov–Witten invariants, topological quantum field theory, the Chern theorem etc. Chern classes were introduced by Shiing-Shen Chern. Tobias EKHOLM - 3/3 Knot contact homology, Chern-Simons theory, and topological string
We explain how knot contact homology is related to the physical theories mentioned in the title. We report on recent progress developing symplectic field theory beyond genus 0 and how this relates to topological strings and open Gromov-Witten invariants. 16 juillet 2015

Classes are a super helpful data type in python. We can create objects that share similar information types. This video shows an example of classes where we create members of Bravais lattice and store relevant information like crystal system or centering as fields within the class. We can

This lecture give an overview of Chern classes of nonsingular algebraic varieties. We first define the Chern class of a lline bundle by looking at the cycle of zeros of a section. Then we define Chern classes of higher rank vector bundles by looking at the line bundle O(1) over the corresp
