A pictogram, also called a pictogramme, pictograph, or simply picto, and in computer usage an icon, is a graphic symbol that conveys its meaning through its pictorial resemblance to a physical object. Pictographs are often used in writing and graphic systems in which the characters are to a considerable extent pictorial in appearance. A pictogram may also be used in subjects such as leisure, tourism, and geography. Pictography is a form of writing which uses representational, pictorial drawings, similarly to cuneiform and, to some extent, hieroglyphic writing, which also uses drawings as phonetic letters or determinative rhymes. Some pictograms, such as Hazards pictograms, are elements of formal languages. "Pictograph" has a different definition in the field of prehistoric art (which includes recent art by traditional societies), where it means art painted on rock surfaces. This is in comparison to petroglyphs, where the images are carved or incised. Such images may or may not be considered pictograms in the general sense. (Wikipedia).

This is a video I have been wanting to make for some time, in which I discuss what the quaternions are, as mathematical objects, and how we do calculations with them. In particular, we will see how the fundamental equation of the quaternions i^2=j^2=k^2=ijk=-1 easily generates the rule for

Visualizing decimal numbers and their arithmetic 67 | Arithmetic and Geometry Math Foundations
This video gives a precise definition of a decimal number as a special kind of rational number; one for which there is an expression a/b where a and b are integers, with b a power of ten. For such a number we can extend the Hindu-Arabic notation for integers by introducing the decimal form

What is the definition of scientific notation
👉 Learn about scientific notations. Scientific notation is a convenient way of writing very large or very small numbers. A number written in scientific notation is of the form a * 10^n where a is the first non-zero number between 1 and 10, (1 included) and n is the number of digits up to t

Multiplying Roman Numerals Like the Romans Did [Math Mini]
The Roman Numeral system is particularly different from our decimal number system in this key respect: it has no place value. Rather than represent values by some power of 10 (or otherwise), roman numerals represent value additively. Each symbol stands for a certain value, and to get the c
