A PLL multibit or multibit PLL is a phase-locked loop (PLL) which achieves improved performance compared to a unibit PLL by using more bits. Unibit PLLs use only the most significant bit (MSB) of each counter's output bus to measure the phase, while multibit PLLs use more bits. PLLs are an essential component in telecommunications. Multibit PLLs achieve improved efficiency and performance: better utilization of the frequency spectrum, to serve more users at a higher quality of service (QoS), reduced RF transmit power, and reduced power consumption in cellular phones and other wireless devices. Rob Stevenson: Convergence theory of adaptive finite element methods (AFEM)
Details of the proof of convergence of AFEM applied to elliptic PDEs will be presented. We introduce approximation classes, and prove that AFEMs converge with the best possible rate. The lecture was held within the framework of the Hausdorff Trimester Program Multiscale Problems: Winter S

Model Buildup and Charge Pump Impairment Modeling | Modeling PLLs Using Mixed-Signal Blockset
This is the second part in the PLL Modeling Using Mixed-Signal Blockset™ series. This installment takes a more bottom-up approach to PLL modeling. Instead of starting with a high-level PLL architecture block, Kerry builds a PLL from its constituent building blocks, such as the phase/freque

Measuring Phase Noise in PLLs | Modeling PLLs Using Mixed-Signal Blockset
In the fifth installment of this series, learn how to measure PLL phase noise using Mixed-Signal Blockset™ in Simulink®. In this demonstration, Kerry adds phase noise to the VCO subsystem and measures the resulting phase noise at the PLL output. He achieves this by leveraging a Phase Noise
