In statistics, canonical analysis (from Ancient Greek: κανων bar, measuring rod, ruler) belongs to the family of regression methods for data analysis. Regression analysis quantifies a relationship between a predictor variable and a criterion variable by the coefficient of correlation r, coefficient of determination r2, and the standard regression coefficient β. Multiple regression analysis expresses a relationship between a set of predictor variables and a single criterion variable by the multiple correlation R, multiple coefficient of determination R², and a set of standard partial regression weights β1, β2, etc. Canonical variate analysis captures a relationship between a set of predictor variables and a set of criterion variables by the canonical correlations ρ1, ρ2, ..., and by the sets of canonical weights C and D. What are complex numbers? | Essence of complex analysis #2
A complete guide to the basics of complex numbers. Feel free to pause and catch a breath if you feel like it - it's meant to be a crash course! Complex numbers are useful in basically all sorts of applications, because even in the real world, making things complex sometimes, oxymoronicall

Why care about complex analysis? | Essence of complex analysis #1
Complex analysis is an incredibly powerful tool used in many applications, specifically in solving differential equations (Laplace's and others via inverse Fourier / Laplace transforms), and of course, fundamental theorem of algebra, Riemann hypothesis, as well as solving complicated integ

Complex analysis: Harmonic functions
This lecture is part of an online undergraduate course on complex analysis. We study the question: when is a function u the real part of a holomorphic function w=u+iv? An easy necessary condition is that u mist be harmonic. We use the Caucy-Riemann equations to show that this condition is

Epsilon Definition of Supremum and Infimum | Real Analysis
We prove an equivalent epsilon definition for the supremum and infimum of a set. Recall the supremum of a set, if it exists, is the least upper bound. So, if we subtract any amount from the supremum, we can no longer have an upper bound. The infimum of a set, if it exists, if the greatest

Inspecting Neural Networks with CCA - A Gentle Intro (Explainable AI for Deep Learning)
Canonical Correlation Analysis is one of the methods used to explore deep neural networks. Methods like CKA and SVCCA reveal to us insights into how a neural network processes its inputs. This is often done by using CKA and SVCCA as a similarity measure for different activation matrices. I
