Absolute Infinite

The Absolute Infinite (symbol: Ω) is an extension of the idea of infinity proposed by mathematician Georg Cantor. It can be thought of as a number that is bigger than any other conceivable or inconceivable quantity, either finite or transfinite. Cantor linked the Absolute Infinite with God, and believed that it had various mathematical properties, including the reflection principle: every property of the Absolute Infinite is also held by some smaller object. What is infinity ?

Definition of infinity In this video, I define the concept of infinity (as used in analysis), and explain what it means for sup(S) to be infinity. In particular, the least upper bound property becomes very elegant to write down. Check out my real numbers playlist: https://www.youtube.co

Real Analysis Chapter 0: Preliminaries

Awwwww yeaaaaa...finally, we are starting our deep dive in to the wonderful work of Analysis! Naturally, we start with just the real numbers, and will slowly (but steadily) lumber through the complex numbers and beyond. But there is no time for that now! In this introductory video, we w

The bizarre world of INFINITE rearrangements // Riemann Series Theorem

We can rearrange a finite sum like 1+2+3=3+2+1, no big deal. But what if we make infinite rearrangements on an infinite sum? We're going to see that we can actually use this to add up to any number you like! The key idea is about conditionally convergent series, that is a series which conv
