Topological censorship

The topological censorship theorem (if valid) states that general relativity does not allow an observer to probe the topology of spacetime: any topological structure collapses too quickly to allow light to traverse it. More precisely, in a globally hyperbolic, asymptotically flat spacetime satisfying the null energy condition, every causal curve from past to future null infinity is fixed-endpoint homotopic to a curve in a topologically trivial neighbourhood of infinity. A 2013 paper by Sergey Krasnikov claims that the topological censorship theorem was not proven in the original article because of a gap in the proof. (Wikipedia).

What is a metric space ?

Metric space definition and examples. Welcome to the beautiful world of topology and analysis! In this video, I present the important concept of a metric space, and give 10 examples. The idea of a metric space is to generalize the concept of absolute values and distances to sets more gener

Topological spaces and manifolds | Differential Geometry 24 | NJ Wildberger

We introduce the notion of topological space in two slightly different forms. One is through the idea of a neighborhood system, while the other is through the idea of a collection of open sets. While this is all reasonably traditional stuff, regular viewers of this channel will not be surp

"Blockchain" or Bitcoin: Understanding the Differences

In this talk, Andreas explores the rise of the term "blockchain" as a counterweight to bitcoin. The term blockchain does not provide a definition, as it has been diluted to be meaningless. Saying "blockchain" simply invites questions, such as "what is the consensus algorithm". Meanwhile, b
