Combinatorial game theory

Infinite chess

Infinite chess is any variation of the game of chess played on an unbounded chessboard. Versions of infinite chess have been introduced independently by multiple players, chess theorists, and mathematicians, both as a playable game and as a model for theoretical study. It has been found that even though the board is unbounded, there are ways in which a player can win the game in a finite number of moves. (Wikipedia).

Epsilon delta limit (Example 3): Infinite limit at a point

This is the continuation of the epsilon-delta series! You can find Examples 1 and 2 on blackpenredpen's channel. Here I use an epsilon-delta argument to calculate an infinite limit, and at the same time I'm showing you how to calculate a right-hand-side limit. Enjoy!

The Infinite Game of Chess (with Outray Chess)

An infinite game of chess with the Thue-Morse sequence. To avoid an infinite game of chess there was a rule that declared that a game would end if any sequence of moves were repeated three times in a row. However Dutch mathematician Max Euwe showed that the Thue-Morse sequence can define

Counting To Infinity And Beyond On A Chessboard

The numbers "infinity plus 1" and "infinity squared" sound like they are made up, but mathematicians do use such numbers in set theory. They are called transfinite ordinals and they arise in combinatorial game theory. This video demonstrates an example of a transfinite value from a special

Intro to Infinite Series | Real Analysis

We introduce the definition of infinite series, the definition of a convergent series and the limit of a series, as well as divergent series. We'll discuss partial sums, terms of an infinite series, and look at various examples including geometric series, the harmonic series, and p-series.
