In social science, the activity space designates the "set of places individuals encounter as a result of their routine activities in everyday life." The activity space can include all relevant locations that an individual routinely go to, such as the place of residence, the workplace (or the place of study), but also gyms, supermarkets, or cinemas. A Dyson Sphere is a megastructure that could be built around a star to harness all the solar energy it gives off. In this video we talk about the different kinds of Dyson Spheres, Dyson Clouds and other megastructures that could be built - and how we might even detect them from Earth. ht

Towards ambient intelligence in AI-assisted healthcare spaces - Dr Fei-Fei Li, Stanford University
Abstract: Artificial intelligence has begun to impact healthcare in areas including electronic health records, medical images, and genomics. But one aspect of healthcare that has been largely left behind thus far is the physical environments in which healthcare delivery takes place: hospit

Higher Algebra 10: E_n-Algebras
In this video we introduce E_n-Algebras in arbitrary symmetric monoidal infinity-categories. These interpolate between associated algebras (= E_1) and commutative algebras (= E_infinity). We also establish some categorical properties and investigate the case of the symmetric monoidal infin

Neural manifolds - The Geometry of Behaviour
This video is my take on 3B1B's Summer of Math Exposition (SoME) competition It explains in pretty intuitive terms how ideas from topology (or "rubber geometry") can be used in neuroscience, to help us understand the way information is embedded in high-dimensional representations inside

RĂ©mi Monasson - Embedding of Low-Dimensional Attractor Manifolds by Neural Networks
Recurrent neural networks (RNN) have long been studied to explain how fixed-point attractors may emerge from noisy, high-dimensional dynamics. Recently, computational neuroscientists have devoted sustained efforts to understand how RNN could embed attractor manifolds of finite dimension, i
