Tetris | Polyforms | Mathematical games
A tetromino is a geometric shape composed of four squares, connected orthogonally (i.e. at the edges and not the corners). Tetrominoes, like dominoes and pentominoes, are a particular type of polyomino. The corresponding polycube, called a tetracube, is a geometric shape composed of four cubes connected orthogonally. A popular use of tetrominoes is in the video game Tetris created by the Soviet game designer Alexey Pajitnov, which refers to them as tetriminos. The tetrominoes used in the game are specifically the one-sided tetrominoes. (Wikipedia).

AWESOME SUPERCONDUCTOR LEVITATION!!!
A quantum levitator it's a circular track of magnets above which a razor-thin disc magically levitates, seeming to defy the laws of physics. The key to the levitator is the disc, which is made of superconducting material sandwiched between layers of gold and sapphire crystal. A piece of fo

Code-It-Yourself! Tetris - Programming from Scratch (Quick and Simple C++)
I mentioned in an earlier video that programming a Tetris clone is a good way to get going with programming as it makes you think about algorithms. Putting my money where my mouth is, I went ahead and did just that. GitHub: https://github.com/OneLoneCoder/Javidx9/blob/master/SimplyCode/On

1. Colouring problems 1-6 from Problem-Solving Strategies by Arthur Engel.
I have finished the problems from Chapter 1 of Arthur Engel's book, so here I move on to Chapter 2. It concerns problems -- so far questions about whether certain shapes can be used to tile other shapes -- that are solved by finding suitable colourings to demonstrate impossibility. There a

Can you make a rectangle from one of each? Why or why not?
In the game of Tetris, there are 7 pieces, each made up of 4 square units. (The shapes are called "tetrominoes" in mathematical literature.) Here's the puzzle. Can you use one of each piece to form a 7x4 rectangle? If so, find a way. If not, prove why it's impossible. Thanks to Doctor Perk
