Figurate numbers | Simplex numbers
A tetrahedral number, or triangular pyramidal number, is a figurate number that represents a pyramid with a triangular base and three sides, called a tetrahedron. The nth tetrahedral number, Ten, is the sum of the first n triangular numbers, that is, The tetrahedral numbers are: 1, 4, 10, 20, 35, 56, 84, 120, 165, 220, ... (sequence in the OEIS) (Wikipedia).

How to calculate interplanar spacing
In this example we show how to calculate the interplanar spacing for a given plane in a tetragonal system. This interplanar spacing is necessary for Bragg's Law and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) calculations in materials science.

Visualizing decimal numbers and their arithmetic 67 | Arithmetic and Geometry Math Foundations
This video gives a precise definition of a decimal number as a special kind of rational number; one for which there is an expression a/b where a and b are integers, with b a power of ten. For such a number we can extend the Hindu-Arabic notation for integers by introducing the decimal form

Worked examples: Finding the hybridization of atoms in organic molecules | Khan Academy
We can find the hybridization of an atom in a molecule by either looking at the types of bonds surrounding the atom or by calculating its steric number. In this video, we use both of these methods to determine the hybridizations of atoms in various organic molecules. View more lessons or p

One way to determine the hybridization of an atom is to calculate its steric number, which is equal to the number of sigma bonds surrounding the atom plus the number of lone pairs on the atoms. In this video, we focus on atoms with a steric number of 4, which corresponds to sp³ hybridizati
